Installation and Setup

Let’s go over the steps to start using Muo.

Download

Go to https://cesbo.com/muo-latest and download the binary file to the location of your choice.

Don’t forget to give the downloaded binary the execute permission.

chmod u+x muo

Configure

Settings of Muo are divided on runtime and permanent ones.

Runtime settings

Runtime settings are provided as arguments. To view all available runtime arguments, call

muo --help

For example,

muo --db_folder /var/some/location

starts Muo and tries to save all the required data to /var/some/location folder.

By default, Muo tries to save everything into $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/muo.

For any location you choose, make sure the process has write permissions to that folder.

Muo has sensible defaults in its Runtime settings. You can run Muo with no arguments whatsoever.

Permanent settings

Permanent settings are saved in the Muo local database. You can change some of them on the Settings screen of the application.
